I have recently installed Vsta 64 Home Edition, dunno whats wrong but there is definitely something wrong with my Drives when i insert DVD Disk it won't read it , or it will take like ages up to 5 mins and then crash anyways.
I got 2 DVD Drives and tried it on bouth Lite DH 20A3P -12 20xDVDRW is one and same brand only 1 year older is another one .
Is is some driver issue and how can i fix it , i tried to update DVD Drive drivers but it says i got the new ones installed already.

What to do ? :O I installed my Vista last night , and i think it did update like 106mb more from Vista update ...

cheers

I had a similar problem with Vista after building a PC for a colleague a few weeks ago. 2 Samsung SH-S203s wouldn't read any CDs she had written elsewhere (different media). Oddly enough they worked fine in XP (I set it to dual-boot) and the CDs I had worked fine. She brought hers in, and as she said, they didn't play ball at all, but worked in XP. There's certainly something funky going on with optical drives in Vista in certain combinations. For the record I also tried an IDE Optiarc drive with the same problem.

What drivers are you using?

Well you need an XP license, to partition your hard-drive into 2, install XP first and then probably install Vista again. There's no quick and easy fix that I'm aware of.

I'm using IDE Samsung DVD rom, IDE LG burner and USB 2.0 Lite-On burner in Vista x64 ,all working great here, all I can suggest is you try updating your chipset drivers for your motherboard.

Btw did you install any games that use Starforce copy protection ?
