Riteo,

OCUK used to sell something very similar, afaik without the inbuilt freeview.

any idea of any makes + models that fit this criteria? I also want if possible some kind of program guide on it, so I can search through to the programs I want, and do a one touch record on them ...

aware im asking a lot, but appreciate any suggestions ! ideally want to spend not much more than £200, as ive found one that does all the above, but no freeview for 160...

appreciate anything people can find ! cheers

ok, spoke to jez and found a 80 gig HDD recorder with twin freeview tuners for 100 quid, bargain.

Now, if I go down this route, I need a DVD recorder that does divx, nothing exceptional required, but ideally, I want to be able to record off the HDD recorder onto DVD (one of the reasons I wanted an all in one, as doing things this way will be 1:1 speed id imagine)

anyone know any cheap, twin scart, dvd recorders that do divx.... !

I just ordered a Pioneer DVR-540HX-S for £286.80 inc vat and del, xmas present for girlfriend. A bit outside your range but it does everything you want, 160gig, divx playback, freeview, hi speed dubbing etc. Not sure I can say where I ordered it, you can never be sure if you'll get a No swearing, Big Kev on these forums, even though the sticky at the top of this forum appears to mention several "competitors", since OCUK seem to do lcd tvs and that.

Is the Pioneer Twin freeview tuner? If not it is something to consider.. It great to be able to record 2 things and watch a third.. :) Never thought I needed it until I bought one.. Your viewing habbits certainly change with a PVR. I got a Topfield 5800, which is a GREAT PVR, but it cost about the same as the Pioneer (but without DVD writer)

From the spec it looks like it has 1 freeview tuner and 1 analogue tuner. Not sure if you can record two things at once however.

hmmm... just a thought...

would buying a super cheap pc with windows mce or some other suitable OS (Not sure if theres some special linux distros or something) with a decent sized HDD, a dvd recorder, and two DVB tv cards be able to do the same as what im after?

Yes it would. Its just slightly more work to set up. But it is by far the most flexible setup you can get.

well, I went ahead and bought a Digihome PVR80. 80 gig HDD, twin freeview tuner, £100 quid, cant really complain. Ordered a 60 quid DVD Recorder with DIVX playback for 55 quid, its a DVR8500x for those that want a look ...

just set up the digihome, and its actually really quite good for the money, its currently downloading a software upgrade, and after this one ti will check at 3am every morning unless I tell it not to.. i'll report back with performance as this week progresses...

I'm hacked off with my Sky + box playing up and an considering the freeview option and the Digihome does look quite promising.

What's your opinions then mate, what's the interface like, I presume you can't do series links, any other info you could give me.

Cheers
