I'm not one to mock, I've got a few turkeys in my collection as well.

Some of the older anime titles in there make me wonder what I was thinking, then I remember "ah yes, they were part of a bundle", same with some live action ones where the reasoning goes something like "it was only £3 in Tesco".
However the only excuse I have for Police Academy is that my brother was with me at the time, it was cheap, and he has an almost irrational dislike of it - so I did the only thing a loving brother could do in such a case, slipped it into his basket and said "get this for me would you?"

I was young, I was stupid, it was under a pound a disc and a friend recommended it...
I knew there was a reason I didn't normally take TV/film recommendations from her ;)

Mine is in my sig. But just seeing Werewolfs collection, wow that's some collection. I'm struggling with storage at 600 titles, but 1800 would take over my house :)

Custom storage - about 700+ of mine are in sort of drawer units with full extension runners (they cost more than normal runners*, but you have almost no dead space where you can't access stuff).
IIRC it cost me less to make them from scratch exactly how I wanted them than to buy some units retail that held less, were bigger and didn't let you make full use of the space (IE to make use of the depth of the unit you lost the ability to easily pull out disks from the second row).

I really need to look at making some more as I've reached the point where I've got disks all over the place.

Either that or start pruning my collection...

*About five times as much, or more depending on the quality of the normal runners, and how many you buy at once (I bought a pack of 20 pairs for about £100 from Screwfix, which was cheaper than buying ten pairs, and I've still got about 14 or so pairs left).

My collection now seems miniscule, but mine is Blu-ray exclusive. I cannot see the point in DVD's anymore. I got shot of all mine. Most were sold at boot sales for a quid each. Many just ended up at the charity shop.

I'd probably be tempted to dump some of my DVD's, but a lot of them aren't available in blu-ray, or wouldn't see any real advantage from an upgrade to blu-ray (edited on video etc).

A bunch of them would also be very hard to replace even on DVD now :( (licensing issues).

I really do need to sort out better storage, but it's just the sheer amount of space required. May look into ripping DVD's then putting them into the loft out of the way.

I'd only dump a DVD if I had the Blu-Ray version. But I'm not going out of my way to replace DVD's just yet, not willing to pay more money unless it's a title that I must have in HD.
