Silly question alert!

Will this allow me to copy files (i.e. backup saved games) onto CD-R and CD-RW's?

I don't believe so, it's a plain DVD-Rom drive, not a DVD/CDRW or DVDRW drive.

you will need a DVD rewriter

You will need a DVD RW for that.

Can get pretty much any model for under £25 now.

So a dvd-RW will write onto dvd's and cd-r's?
