Afternoon all, I'm currently building a nice collection of dvds and I'm struggling to find a place to put them, at the moment they're all standing upright wedged between my pc and a speaker.

I've looked on all the usual places for cases/storage but they appear to be tacky plastic or huge metal cases with just sleeves in them.
The dvds are mostly those black jewel cases, but a few are special edition boxes that are chunky.

I know about competitors and such, so just post a picture or model number and I'll do the rest :)

TIA,

Neil.

Argos and IKEA are normally worth checking out ;)

Argos, Ikea, Do It Yourself ;)

The selection of DVD storage units (at least affordable ones) still seems to be relatively limited if you want a decent unit, but it's much better now than 18 months ago.

I threw away all my CD and DVD cases and just keep the discs and the sleeves in big zip cases. It's saved so much space and I can jsut put them in a drawer or a cupboard anywhere.

Some of my cases were for collector or limited edition ones, but I figure that I bought the film, not the plastic & cardboard.

I've got a nice thin and tall tower from good old Argos.

I've been looking for a decent, reasonably priced DVD rack for ages, but everything I find seems to be just some crappy chipboard, 'black ash' or beech effect crap. Either that, or the metal racks only accommodate single DVD cases and not box sets which is useless.

I would make my own, but I just can't be bothered at this point in time so I'll just keep my DVDs in a box.

Did the same with my DVDs, 208 disk wallet is full but my livingroom looks so much tidier and it's freed up tons of floor space :D

We ended up buying a bookcase from Argos for £20. link
Keeps everything tidy, and can easily take 2 lines of dvds per shelf.

I've got 2 soundstyle XS180 DVD racks. Do a search to see a piccy. Not cheap but very classy.

Having said that though for extra storage I got some el cheapo 20 quid Argos jobby.

Sky's the limit just need deep pockets for some stuff :)

I've a pair of Ikea 'Benno' towers in my lounge, one either side of the fireplace. One holds CDs and the other DVDs. They're quite slender but tall, so you can fit quite a few DVDs in them.
