Hi all. Am moving next week and need to buy a large DVD cabinet to house the following which I currently have shelved:

Looking around the internet it seems the really large cabinets only seem to be based and delievered in America. Anyone know any good sites to buy one for the size I'd need? (with space for future purchases). I'd be really greatful to see some of your cabinet set ups also :). Was thinking (hoping) to pay around the 200 mark.

yeh maybe... personally I don't like it and would rather go for a normal shelving unit so you can fill it with other stuff as well as dvd's. That one above is huge as well, your collection will probably fill up one shelf!

Two words: Billy Bookcases for something similar to that:)

DVD storage is a PITA to source reasonable quality/high capacity without spending a fortune here.

Ah just googled very nice! Much higher than the DVD Cabinets I was looking at as well. Cheers! :)

Aye, and they start out nice and cheap as well (IIRC about £30 for one of the colours), and can have doors added if you want :)

Unfortunately they take up wall space I don't have, otherwise i'd be using them :) (instead i'm using sort of drawers under my desk).

I got mine from Argos - 875/8165 for the beech.
The Oak one in the middle isn't as good as the sides are made of two pieces instead of one.

Some of my current collection, in the storage drawers I use :)

That's about 200 or so disks in each of those units, iirc about 76 for the top and middle drawers, then 55ish in the bottom (they are about the same size as a kitchen floor cupboard).

Not pretty, not on display, but 400+ disks fully accessible* and easily so in units that can be rolled around.

I need to make more of them I worked it out, and made the patterns for use with the router so theoretically it's about a day or two when i'm feeling well enough in the garage to make another one :)
Although the next one might be out of a better material than contiboard, if I can work out a way to do it with something like Pine Laminate without wasting a lot (basically any sheet material the router can cope with).

*My first unit had the noobie mistake of using normal drawer runners, cue about 10+ disks at the back of the drawer you can't get to without pulling others out (full extension runners cost more, but are really worth it).

Oh wow nice collection guys! Good job theres no chance of girls coming in here eh haha :D

How can you both be missing Lost however!? lol. :p

Oh I had Creepshow one somewhere. Tales from the Darkside is one I was looking into, I already have the Movie :).

If you're buying why not just put up some shelves to your own spec?

You only said you were moving so I'm not sure :)

Ah yeah should have clarified, just renting. Decided to get two of these:

Yeah its Earth Final Conflict. I actually bought those last 3 sets off a member here for nine pounds and they have since been deleted and worth 100 pounds+ each actually! lol.
