Can anyone recommend a DVI-D dual link to HDMI or DP cable that actually works with a Hazro 27" 1440p monitor?

I have bought a few cheap non branded ones but non worked they just gave a messed up signal to the monitor.

I have had problems in the past even with DVI-D dual-link cables...only got one that works properly with the monitor.

Just to be clear its HDMI at graphic card end and DVI-D dual at the monitor end.

Thanks :)

I ordered the Benfei Active DisplayPort to DVI Adapter for £12.99 from amazon. It's not available, now, though. It worked absolutely fine.

The specs for that say only up to 1920x1200 though?

But if it works it works :)

Will see if I can find one somewhere :)

Thanks :)

Any other suggestions still welcome :)

I'm not sure an HDMI to DL-DVI converter actually exists at any sane price. I was looking for one a while back and found a single model that cost £150 and turned out to be unavailable anyway. There are several DisplayPort to DL-DVI ones though, I use a 'BizLink' brand one and it works just fine, so if you've got a spare DP port that may be an option.

£3 for an active HDMI (or DP) to Dual DVI adapter seems unlikely.

Agreed...they are expensive...some cheaper ones for around £30 but can be hit or miss if they work it seems.

Shame to have to sideline the Hazro even though its 9 years old now.

Is that with 1440p resolution?

I have two that work perfectly with a 2560x1600 monitor (displayport on the GPU, dual link DVI on the monitor):

1) Apples mini displayport to dual link DVI. They probably don't sell this new anymore.
2) An ebay one titled "Active Mini DisplayPort DP & USB to DVI Dual Link Cable Adapter" from ebay for £49.99. It's still selling there now but I probably can't link it due to rules even though I can't see OcUK selling one.

However I don't know whether they will then work with an HDMI adapter. It might be the adapter causing the problem?

My Work Monitor is a Hazro. Not sure what cable I have though.

The only adapter I have in that is not "Unbranded" is the Akasa one below but it's only rated for 1080p.

Akasa Flexible DVI-D to HDMI Adapter - Black @ £6.95 inc VAT https://www.overclockers.co.uk/akasa-flexible-dvi-d-to-hdmi-adapter-black-cb-128-ak.html

Swivel HDMI-to-DVI-D male adapter from Akasa with flexible angle and gold-plated contacts

If you want to much beyond 1080p @ 60Hz you need an active adapter.

DVI supports higher resolutions/refresh rates by doubling the connection width. HDMI does the same thing by increasing the transmission speed. To convert wider to faster you need an active device for the conversion.

Looks like it should yes...have already ordered a non branded one same design as that for the same price elsewhere but still not arrived yet....dubious that it will work so if it doesn't I will definitely be buying the akasa one.

Now got the upgrade bug for a new 144Hz (+) monitor...must resist...so many to choose from.....from 24" @240Hz to 32" curved @144Hz with even a 27" 1440p @170Hz in between....But that for another thread :)

Retail therapy is expensive lol :)

Thanks for the help...should have asked here first before wasting money on various HDMI adapters that don't exist unless silly money...active display port adapter def the way to go.

Not a problem, always happy to help where I can!

oh well...another £15 wasted....adapter arrived and it doesn't work...its a "Newlink" branded one...looks identical to your one...screen blinks briefly....dropping the resolution down to 1080p makes no difference either....tried other cables too just in case.

Works fine with my olde Samsung monitor from 15 years ago...24" 1080p@60Hz so at least it won't go to waste as I can use it for that as its VGA and DVI only inputs.

Could you test one before I buy...since you have the Hazro monitor too...27" 1440p DVI-D Dual link input only?

The model number of mine Is HZ27WC

Bought mine from ocuk when they first appeared about 9 years ago..great monitor ...

Happy to buy the adapter from you but only if you can guarantee it will work with 2550x1440 at 60Hz like its meant to?

Thanks :)
