Dvi - HDMI adaptor?

Sent OC a webnote and they put a dongle in the post ☺

Just RMA 'd the card as i got lots of graphic corruption which from reading here is down to faulty or over heating video ram i believe.

Sorry am I missing something here? Why do you need a HDMI dongle? I've got a 1gb 4870 here, with a HDMI-DVI dongle and I don't use it. Should I?

the HDMI dongle is for ppl that wanna hook up there PC to a AV amp or HDTV/LCD/Plasma for 1080i/p picture an up to 7.1 suround sound

Yeah disgraceful that by ATi, their cards should come with the adapters, and if not they should supply them, as after all, many people are probably buying them for that reason.

Just for info - both of the Powercolor 4870's I've owned came with HDMI dongles. Not used one yet mind...

Had the same problem myself with the gainward 4850 i got, bought a official one off famous auction site from a seller in america, cost me around £15 in total.

sorry to bring this thread back to life, but I am trying to source one of these (A Grey one)

been given a XFX 4830 card with 2 dvi outputs and tried the dvi-hdmi adapter ocuk sell but alas, only carries video,

Still trying to get one of these damn adapters.
