DVI - HDMI Cable

Ive just brought a Cable to go from my system's 8800 GTX to my Samsung LCD F86 46" TV. When connected TV comes up with mode not surrported. grrrr

Any idea hows to get this to work? I just want to whatch DVD's from system through TV

Would screen resolution have anything to do with this?

1680X1050 is what I have PC set too. The TV I have will do 1920X1080 at 100hz, so should be fine

When using DVI to HDMI your resolution will probably need to be set at either 1280x720 or 1920x1080. You can't set it at 1680x1050.
