Just before i recieved this card yesterday, i was using an ancient 8800gt with my 22" monitor. the monitor had developed a 'problem' where DVI wouldnt work unless i booted the computer to windows using the analogue vga cable, then swithed over to dvi. worked alright till now, i cant use dvi AT ALL, and its destroying my gaming experience. im extremely desperate, as i almost want to throw up when i play games. why does the nvidia card manage dvi, yet my ati cant? btw, i plugged my geforce back in, and that still works with my monitor.

P.S, just incase anyone says 'oh, there's not much difference', let me tell you there is! heavily noticable too, like going from a 1080p HD movie to those ancient video cds,

It sounds more like a problem with either your monitor or DVI Cable than your graphics card, seen as you had similar issues with your 8800. You tired a different lead or a different monitor?

its a wierd one. i have a slight feeling it might be driver problems with ati (very very rare i know, wow! shocking :P ) when the monitor first started causing problems i looked around, and found out the problem was pretty common, yet they all worked in the end. there were one or two wierd fixes, which are not working here at all. so i know it is the monitor in the end, but yet something is preventing the ati from sending ANY dvi signals at all. will try another monitor now, but its a new card for flips sake, i'll be ****ed off if i got a dud. DVI cable perfect btw, works on my brothers pc, yet his cable doesnt work with my set up

no luck, i couldnt get a monitor to test at moment. was hoping someone knew of an easy fix, bit if not.. well, im SURE its ati drivers, so i guess im gonna be playing like i've drunk 2 bottles of vodka for the next few months :( ahh well, atleast i can play the games now :D
