DVLA and tax

Ive recently purchased a new car, the car had no road tax but did have MOT. The log book was sent of on friday, i recieved the newkeepers supplement when bought the car, im waiting for my new motor insurance certificate to arrive so i can get road tax. Problem is i have lost the newkeepers supplement and now im stuck. Anybody have any sugestions,
How long does it takes for my details to be entered as the new registerd keeper on DVLA records and how long before i recieve the V5(Logbook)

DVLA are normally quite good with V5 turnaround - usually under 2 weeks

that said i'm still waiting on one, dunno if its royal mail or not

if not, you need to fill out a v62 to get a new v5 (they cost £28 iirc) unless you are the new owner and the dvla have not recieved the old v5 stating change of ownership

As said previously - about 3 weeks usually. Just got one back from a purchase on 7th Oct.

If you have lost that slip and no V5 is forthcoming, then it's time to cough up. That slip of paper is worth £30 in reality.

Edit - Scratch that you need the v5 number.

Saves starting a new thread, is there any limit on how much MOT needs to be on the car? My tax runs out on Weds and MOT isn't until November 7th

Edit:

You must produce an MOT test certificate that is valid on the day the tax disc comes into force. A certificate that expires on the last day of the month eg 30 April cannot be used if the tax disc is to start on the first day of the following month eg 1 May. The certificate must be original; a photocopy is not acceptable.

Does this mean I don't have to MOT it yet?

Except you cant do the free one as he has lost the new car owner slip
