So....

Is anyone else trying to get on the DVLA website to purchase a private reg only to find their website can't handle the traffic?

Crazy to stop doing telesales so that its all done online and then not be capable of handling the amount of traffic....

Even when it comes to filling in your payment details, you aren't going to feel very secure about submitting them as the next page might not even work!

Very poor show.

I'm trying right now too, can't even get any pages most of the time.

What page are you using to buy? I'm using a direct link to the 'How to Buy' page, but it still says the 11 registrations are unavailable until 8:30am 7th December.

Started off on the main page and gradually through opening more tabs have found my registration, but after clicking the Buy Now button and being taken to the secure page the pages fail to load.

Frustrating as I have 4 I want to buy in total

I can't even see a 'Buy now' button, and some of my pages are loading (the How to Buy page where you can see the reg and price). Still says not available. Been at it an hour now, don't have much more time before I have to leave.

Sorry its not a Buy Now button, its a Next button.

Mine just fails every time loading the secure page.

Some images will appear on that page in the white space on the left. Unfortunately because its running so poorly, they may take some time. Try having several tabs open at once and keep copy and pasting the link in the address bar that performs the search. That way you can keep trying...

Never came up in the end. I had loads of tabs open, and the reg I was after is sold now anyway. Such is life.

None of us have cars we can put them on yet, its a decent reg to have ready!
