Ok, so ordered a PSU today, and chose next-day as free delivery, and it is shipped with DX... Now just out of interest, I got my email to give me tracking number for the DX site and put it in, at which point it asked for a postcode - I presumed it wanted this as a security feature - thought it was quite good...

Saying that, it now won't accept the delivery post code :( or details, saying the combination doesn't match those on record.... Now I've tried delivery post code, billing address post code, and even the OCUK one just in case... None work :( So all I can think is that it hasn't been updated yet...

So basically just wondering what other people's experiences are with them, and how often/when they update?

Having the same problem myself,

Order dispatched at 2pm yesterday and I expected a update last night but still nothing,

Cant see it arriving on monday

they don't update, your given a 8 hour window for delivery?
be on your toes, the first package from them i had delivered here, the driver didn't understand knocking, a doorbell or leaving a little slip to say he'd called even when the tracking online stated that delivery had been attempted

i refuse to use them now, always pay to use DPD if ordering from ocuk :)

I never heard of 'theDX' before yesterday. My £220 order with OCUK and delivery tracking with DX is fine as it says "Due for delivery by the date below.... 19/10/2011". I will post briefly on my first experience with DX.

There's no timeslot so I have to sit on my backside all day for it to come but thats the price of free delivery but could be better still. Quote "guarantees delivery before the end of the following working day."

I bit of searching has found that 'FREE SHIPPING (DX Secure Next Day)' is "bar-code tracked through our secure network with recipient signature on delivery " And a bit of history from them too which shows how highly rated they are.

Btw, If it's tracked throughout the network, why not tell the consumer too where it is through emails/texts/website - as a longterm member of Which? I know a 2 hour window isn't too much to ask for with most delivery companies with the modernisations they go through. I'm not moaning, simply making a reasonable point for something that has raged on for years.

Feedback....

My package has just arrived, very happy with the delivery from 'theDX' - he rang the doorbell then knocked on the door. He was the only delivery person that uses both methods, some only knock.

I did get an email an hour before DX arrived (thought it was coincidence but it's sent from a pre-alert email address) and said delivery will be between 8am and 6pm. If you weren't in, the email also says:

"Do not worry, if we are not able to deliver your item, please visit our website at www.thedx.co.uk/delivery in order to rebook this for a more convenient address or date (Monday - Friday).

...

We at DX would welcome your comments and any ideas you have to improve our service. Please e-mail us at [email protected]

Many Thanks

DX next day is NOT next day delivery, well not for me at any rate! Ordered a card for my daughters PC yesterday afternoon and just been off the phone from OCUK who tell me DX have just picked up the card and I wont get it till tomorrow. Nothing I hate more then false promises. I certainly wont be using the DX option ever again.

Be warned with DX that if you're not in when they try and deliver, you have to arrange a new delivery date, you can not go and collect from a depot.

I found this out the hard way, I ordered a 6970 on thursday, used the free shipping option to save myself some money. They tried to deliver in the 10 mins that no one was at home on friday. Was hugely disappointed that there was no option to go and collect. Had to wait until monday to get my GFX card.

However...it's a free option so you can't really complain.

If DX is listed as 2-3 days or something, then no problem, but saying next day when it is not is worth complaining about. If I had known next day means 2 days I would have chosen another option. I had plans tomorrow which I will have to change and a disappointed daughter. Not impressed.
