DX11 PSU

It will need a 1200w PSU minimum, this is due to the advancedomg shaders used in DX11. An ATI rep told me this in confidence, so don't tell anyone else.

On a more serious note, they aren't even out yet and no figures have been published, so how are we supposed to know. Typically new generations of cards don't need a serious amount over the last top-gen of cards, so using a bit of common sense yours should be ok for a new single card.

Thanks, just thought all you technophiles here may have read somewhere about the requirements etc as the ATI's are due out soon :D

but nobody knows. we could say a 620w psu is a enough but maybe its wrong... we don't know the specs of the cards.
Ok, thanks. I just read the ATI cards were due out in a few weeks so knowing how clued up people here were with such things, thought I'd ask.

Put it this way mate, the new cards will be very similar to power consumption from the gtx 295 or gtx 285 i rekon, so 600w would be fine, for crossfire, 750 or 850 would be grand :)
