Hey guys, about a month ago my external hard drive (Western Digital 320gb) started playing up, if i tried to write anything it would go really slowly and then freeze and the drive had to be unplugged. reading from it was slow but it worked. I figured it was on its way out and turned it off intending to transfer everything off it when i had some free time.
So today i came to plug it in to start unloading stuff and its not showing up in My Computer. Disk Management is showing it as unallocated and wants me to initialize it. I'm guessing this would mean formatting the drive?
So basically is there any way of me getting the files off this drive? It's nothing important so definitely not worth paying for but i don't mind playing around with some free software to get it sorted if its possible.
