Dying Light: The Beast

Been playing this quite a bit lately, game looks incredible with RT  The world is very detailed and well designed too, some of the scenes at times almost look photo realistic. Gameplay is very good too and feels better refined (less arcadey) than the second one.

Currently playing this my self. Probably about 80% through the main story line.

At first I thought it was a bit clunky and the graphics are definitely last gen but overall I can't lie and say I haven't enjoyed it.

It's a good game.

Nexus says it looks incredible, opeth says graphics look last gen. Hmm...

Interesting

It looks good. But the graphics are that of Dying Light 2 which came out a few years ago.

It's a bit like the Frost Bite engine used by Battlefield.

It's optimised for speed rather than IQ.

Well in some ways it is incredible.

When I played Dying Light 2 I had a 3080 and couldn't max the settings.

But with current pc it's on max.

So incredible!

Now I am confused. What is the conclusion here. Last gen graphics or incredible?

Or last gen graphics are incredible? :p

The visuals are definitely better in terms of the textures and world design. The ray tracing isn't any better than dl 2 though but having better textures helps RT to shine more.

I look forward to playing it. But greedy ******* want silly moneys for it. Summer sale probably. Beta testing should be done by then too :D

It's far from last gen graphics  It looks way better than a lot of games out nowadays (especially anything that is just ancient raster). Photos don't do it justice especially with capturing the global illumination as the day goes on with regards to the weather and sun which can impact the overall tone/atmosphere. The only thing which looks crap are the mountains in the distance which look very last gen era but the city itself is packed with detail.

Another thing which is superb is the audio, it is top notch, walking through the woods and hearing the the trees creaking in the wind is very nice.

This was an incredible scene/gameplay moment, the voice acting, music etc. spoilers so in spoiler tag (it's after Crane does the transmitters on radio tower)

It looks good. But it's DL2 graphics surely. And that came out nearly 4 years ago

I think what makes it look good is now we are playing on a GPU that can max the game out and a screen that can bring it to life.

When I played DL2 I had a 3080 which struggled and I had a 10 year old monitor.
