Dying Light

I ordered the retail copy from ShopTo earlier today with all of the extras. It was dispatched not long afterwards. Not bad!

Edit: I opted for the PS4 version despite having a competent PC because I'm trying to build a collection. :p

I got some extras with a pre order (would imagine everyone did?) that have absolutely zero interest to me, so if anyone didn't pre order and wants them feel free:

Been playing this co-op with a mate, we are about 20% through story, Say level 10ish. Both really enjoying it. The story is a little crazy and not well written.. But the combat and movement once levelled up a little is fun. Yeah it's a little frustrating at times but I can over look that, all because drop kicking a zombie off of a bridge or into a trap is just not getting old!

Waited for hard copy, so we could trade in afterwards.

I WONT be going out at night again!
the mission with the crate railroads you into staying out late...so you cannot really avoid it...but man it was nasty

I have already bottled out of restarting the generators at night to light up some special zombies and did it during the day

I will be in bed early every night !!

lovely environment to run round though..love the game

The night run is really really simple if you don't rush about, making noise (crouch and move) and keep alert using the Human Sense toggle to see if any of them big baddies are about.

My brother and I even took them head on now that we're higher in level, though 2 vs 1 with Orange weapons tend to make it favourable for us :p

Flares and some good weapons make short work of the volatiles but it's definitely harder. I've started using my shotgun more now to be honest as leveled up my other weapons make short work of zombies that get attracted to the noise.

The bridge mission (to pilfer UV bulbs) is quite hard, just remember after you do it that you can zipline over to the broken middle section of the bridge which has an abandoned military/medical outpost. Lots of police vans, supplies and weapons to be had.

There's an easy way round trying to make it to the main generator at night, just wait until near the end of the day (tower warns you 1hr before nightfall) and hightail it through the generator compound to the safe house at the back where you switch it on. Sit and wait till night then just flick the switch.

ah so you can still complete the mission without having to do it all at night..that sounds better

Yup, switch the 2 sub-generators on during day then like I said wait until the end of a day to head to the main one. Wait a little bit for night to fall, flick the switch and that fries the zoms and unlocks the safehouse so you can sleep to day.

I wonder how many gas bottles you can gather up and drop into a street?

seed an entire street and see what happens!? maybe a chain reaction, I wonder how far apart they would need to be

I wonder if the pile of gas bottles will despawn if you leave a certain area. Perhaps someone needs so stay and watch it whilst another runs around collecting...

I'll report back when I get a chance to do it with my brother.

Played co-op earlier and it loads of fun. My friend was streaming on Twitch and showed me failing to hit a garbage pile so I fell to my death from a very tall building :o

Has anyone experienced difficulty with sprinting on the PS4 version? I can't sprint at all! You're supposed to be able to sprint from the point where you save Mark, and yet I can't? Holding or pressing L3 does nothing whatsoever. At first I suspected my controller was playing up, but L3 seems to be working elsewhere. I temporarily changed the control scheme to southpaw, which switched sprinting to R3, but that didn't work either! I can't complete the damned parkour tutorial because of it!

Edit: I booted up Far Cry 4 to test the L3 button and it seems to be working perfectly for sprinting? It can't be defective then, surely?
