I have a storage machine with 3 storage hard drives. Each drive is converted to a dynamic disk and spanned into one volume.
I've been using this set up for quite a while, but only just noticed that while transferring data to the spanned volume, it causes the CPU usage to fluctuate between 30% and 70% extremely rapidly. I checked process explorer and apparently these are hardware interrupts.
This only happens when transferring data to or from the spanned dynamic volumes. Is this normal for a set up like this, or is there something else wrong? What could this be?
Because of this, data transfer to the spanned volume is about 30% or 40% slower than transfers to my un-spanned C drive.
Any help is appreciated.
