Just wondering if anyone have used any android app to dyno their cars?

I know its not going to be accurate but I need some indication what my car is doing. I'm looking to put a DTUK module in and they are letting customers test before buying.

When I'm going down there one day I want to see some figures rather than me imagining it and me saying 'pulls like a train':p:p

I've seen something in the past that possibly connects to the ODBC port and records more accurate data.

This is on an Audi a3 8v chassis 2013. Thanks.

Not Android but Vag-com will record timestamps vs wheel / road speed, which means you can figure out acceleration times, calculate bhp and torque.

The only apps i've seen with this function rely on you to manually input some data such as weight - I can only assume it then uses data from gps and the various sensors to calc what it thinks is the cars bhp.

Never going to be much use to you. infact if I remember I'll test the torque one on both the fiesta and civic later and let you know what it claims

Torque Pro will, plug in bluetooth OBDII dongle, pair it up, load app and run the performance stats screen thing that shows 0-60 and whatnot.

None of these are free though. Free ones use GPS data after you input some basic stats like weight, fuel tank level, your weight etc.

I have a copy of VCDS but dont use it very much other than a few coding tweaks for my car. I'll have a little research to see how easy it is to use.

Yeah thats the one i've heard but the keyboard warriors are saying how inaccurate it is.

Well it's going to be a darn sight more accurate than apps that just use GPS and user input data!

It's probably about as close you will get to reasonably accurate numbers shy of buying a dedicated performance logger or going to a dyno run day.

I'll use it on both cars in a bit and report what it says - should be circa 90bhp and circa 200bhp or there abouts - it's never going to be deadly accurate so I'm not sure what use it would ever realistically have

So I forgot a out this last night then remembered half an hour ago.

Was in the civic so used it on that. It registered a Max HP at the wheels of 165bhp - that was in 3rd

Feels probably about right, maybe a little optimistic for a circa 197bhp at the fly car, but I'm no expert. Still not sure what you could actually use it for
