Anyone have one of those blade less Dyson fans?

Not sure if they are any good, quite expensive compared to everything else.

I am looking at the AM02 and the AM03, here's a video showing off both:


Looks like the AM02 moves more air around while the AM03 is more adjustable.

I am open to suggestions for any other cooling devices :D

They are described as 'Air Multipliers' but as far as I can tell they do just move air around like a standard fan.

I'm open to suggestions on particular AC solutions as well. :p
 
I have one, while it looks good and moves the air about pretty well...it is very expensive and very noisy when up on high settings though....we don't use it anymore as we got aircon instead.

I would get something cheaper and quieter or just get an air conditioner. Far better value for money, unless you value the kudos of owning one, if you are into such things.

They're crap, they've just moved the fan from the standard location to an impeller in the base which blows up inside the body out through the upper portion. They're noisey and massively overpriced. They do look good but they're plastic and cheap feeling.
 
Most people in my family have one, they're pretty good but they are expensive if you pay full price. I'm definately getting one when I move back to the UK.
 
OK, mixed responses on the Dyson, onto something else :p

I haven't really found anything that defeats the heat of summer. Fans pretty much move air around the room, and at least from the AC unit I have it is very loud and as soon as its switched off the room is back to a furnace.

Some kind of passive/quiet solution is the ideal product I want.
 
Avoid - bought one with my Tesco clubcard points and sold it about a week later because it does actually sound like a Dyson vacuum cleaner when it's running.
 
My portable AC should be arriving tomorrow!
My room gets ridiculously hot, even on cool days, and stays hot through the night so I have a cheap, large pedestal fan from Argos which I leave on while I sleep but it's really loud so I'm giving cheap AC a go.
Klarstein mch-2, £95 from the bay. Same brand as my mini fridge which has been amazing so I have some faith in the quality being good! I'll report back once It's up and running.
