Does anyone have one?

Thoughts?

Have luckily won one which is very nice but I am thinking of selling it to fund a new Mielé to replace our ageing Mielé 5280 which is the "BEAST MODE" of vacuum cleaners ;)

I am not sure if the V8 can handle a deep shag in a busy home.

We have one, it's good for small jobs but with anything over the size of an atom it gets clogged very quickly.

Cant find it now but I read a post in Home & Garden the other day that said it struggles with anything over 20 square metres.

It's good for the odd bit of cleaning or if you only need to do a little bit, but you'll still need a plug-in to get the stubborn stains out.

I'd still recommend keeping it though, it's handy to be able to just grab something off the wall.

and it was an exaggeration.

We have both a V8 and a DC51 in our house. The V8 is useful for quick jobs, hoovering daily etc. The DC51 is used for deep-clean (i.e. with the hoses), or the car.

Both cleaners suck the same, just one lasts longer than the other and has more / different attachements

Thanks guys.

Mu current thoughts are, it is an extremely posh Dustbuster :D

As you say Kuros, handy to use "ad-hoc" or cleaning the car etc.

I have cheekily emailed Dyson to ask if I can return it to them for something more appropriate for ourselves, gladly paying for any charges incurred by themselves.

No harm in asking. Would just be wasteful sat on wall not being used.

Am angling for a Cinetic Big Ball. I know is cheeky but if they say no, will keep the V8 and get another Mielé for the weekly clean.

We've got a V6 I think, it's great for every day hoovering and clearing up the cat and dog hair. Because it's so small and light it actually gets used as it's easy just to whip round quickly with it.

My GF got a V6 in the summer and found it more than adequate for replacing her mains powered vacuum cleaner. The advantage being it's good for cleans here and there rather than set out an hour or so to clean the whole flat which results in you vacuuming more often than you normally would IE whilst waiting around for something you'd be tempted to give a room the once over since it's just there.

This..

We have a 3 story place with 2 rooms on each floor, hoovering with a corded vacuum used to be a real chore. Now we whip round in 10 minutes to cover the whole house.

The waste container could do with being double the size imo, but you get used to it.

Where did you win it? I could do with one myself for doing all our solid floors downstairs, and the stairs. They get very dusty and sweeping every couple of days is a pain.

I imagine you're a bit late as hes already won it but I hear he's selling one ;)

I've got the V8 and love it. I had a cheap VAX before, the cord was a bit short even for my small flat and i hated lugging it around, now the V8 is nice and easy to get out, much easier for getting cobwebs off the ceiling, better on mats and rugs and better all round. I think in a bigger house it would be handy to keep for upstairs, in a small flat they are perfect.

similar - got a v8 and a normal dyson. The plugged in one hasn't been used in months.

The v8 does our 4 bedroom house no bother. Needs emptied a few times on the way round as we have a dog so plenty of hair etc but does a great job on the carpets and a good job on the vinyl/wood floor with the other head on it.

Can't fault it - never had any issue with the battery in normal mode, in turbo mode it runs down in about 9 mins but normal mode does a great job of cleaning and easily lasts 25 minutes plus.

Ill be probably getting one around Christmas time. Our current morphy richards can't pickup any hair and doesn't have a mechanised head either.
