dyson

<Insert stock Dyson thread comment>

Have had our Dyson for about 7 or 8 years, still works perfectly and has required zero maintenance. Gets used frequently and has had some hard labour (was sucking up loftboard chippings over the last couple of weekends during a jigsaw-frenzy). Parents have had theirs longer and apart from one wheel bearing snapping (which they repaired for a tenner) it has had no other problems.

I'd certainly buy another one if this one ever goes pop.

Although I've no experience with Miele cleaners, if the quality of our washing machine and tumble dryer is anything to go by, they should be awesome.

We are on our second Dyson, this one is a DC23, no problems with cleaning whatsoever, easy to stow, recommended.

Managed to blow up the motor on mine after using it for intense DIY clear up (brick/plaster/filler dust etc...)

Bought a new motor off the bay and it's fine now. Oh, and I clean the filters a bit more reguarly than 6 months too :D

Dyson animal if you are worried about cat/dog hair. We have two cats and it comes with a few attachments. Does the job so well, excellent brand of vaccccuuuumm cleaners. :)

There's a reason why you see rows of Dyson Hoovers on every every 2nd hand shop all over.

We had a VAX one but the family are a bunch of wimps as apparently it was too heavy so now it's been replaced by an Electrolux one which works pretty well.

The dyson upright thing we have at work is aweful, apart from the fact its green and purple! it does a poor job of sucking up anything. After some investigation the filters were pretty clogged up, so the no loss of suction is a bit of a joke really, even after this it was unconsistant and I eventually found a split hose made from a very brittle material. The amount of pipework that goes into this is insane, I bought a vax bagless jobbie for about £40 that has a very direct route for the pipework and as a result it could probably suck the underlay through the carpet on the maximum setting, its also far easier to empty and maintain. Actually looks like someones spent some time developing it rather than the dysons "spend all the money on advertising and put a big price tag on it, people will asume its the best" approach.
