Metropolis (1927) – Fritz Lang
Soylent Green (1973) – Richard Fleischer
Logan’s Run (1976) – Michael Anderson
Blade Runner (1982) – Ridley Scott
Gattica (1997) – Andrew Niccol
Spread out over a few decades, I add Lang's masterpiece because its really the first dystopian film.
Soylent green is still oddly relevant today, as well as a good story.
Logan's Run is a very very good film which you can see mirrored in the architecture of more modern film such as aeon flux. Also the robot in it is probably the single worst costume design of all time.
Blade runner you already said but its my favourite film of all time.
Gattaca is another dystopian film which has fantastic visuals as well as a great storyline.
As you can probably see from that I love dystopian films because of the visuals and architecture in them. How about yourself?
