E-Cigarettes

seem to be lots of brands of e cigarettes???

are any of them any good? should you stick with one make and not another?
Sorry, gjrc, I wasn't sure whether yours was a genuine question or an expression of incredulity over my [slightly harsh, in retrospect] reply to Wyrdo :D

Lots of brands, lots of variants, aye. Your best bet is to read up on e-cig forums, or [as I did] hit Youtube for review upon review, and to get a feel for what's available.

To answer your question, as I said: I'm vaping some grape flavour e-liquid - which I chose to buy with no nicotine in it whatsoever - using an Intellicig Evo vaporiser, which has proven to be a more than satisfactory alternative to the evil weed :)

seen these in action and sometimes get cravings to try it even tho i don't smoke :S

It's OK :p

I didn't realise there were non-nicotine versions but I just really don't see the point, why smoke them at all?

Definately go for the "screwdriver" type e cigarette.
Very good battery life, and they do work.
Cut my disgusting real fag usage considerably, and after initial cost outlay, much cheaper.

It's a fair question - if you've never had a tobacco habit, there's no real reason to start using one.

But for people that do smoke fags already, it's very simple harm reduction without really impacting on the daily 'routine' that smokers get into. It's amazing how important the "suck cloudy stuff in... blow cloudy stuff out" part is to the whole smoking experience, and vaporisers/e-cigs still provide that cloudy stuff. Only now it's not deadly :)

hhhm so does it actually help u stop smoking?
Does it? No.

Can it? Yes. Lots of anecdotal evidence to suggest it's an extremely effective harm-reduction alternative to cigarettes [including my own anecdote], but ultimately, of course, it's up to you. Basically, any time that is spent away from actual tobacco smoking can only ever be a good thing.

As I mentioned above, it addresses the habitual/psychological effects in a way that all other tobacco-dodging methods don't.

Thread resurrection!

Seriously considering these, titan looks the best but I'm a bit confused over the automatic Vs manual thing...

Would like automatic I think as it mimics smoking the best but should I be thinking differently?

Please advice

I tried them. They are no substitute. If you want to quit go to a cessation class run by your local authority, and they will advise you on what will help you give up.

I did it last year, I took Champix. It was easy once I had made the decision to stop.

Smoking a fake fag will do nothing but remind you of how much you miss it.

I ordered one from China. No idea if it was automatic or manual. I just took a drag on it, the end lit up and it vapourised some liquid, and I inhaled a cloud of smoke flavoured vapour. It tasted very smiliar to fags, but it didn't hit the spot at all. I could feel the nicotine effect, but it was nothing at all in the way of being helpful.

I wanted an e-pipe. I don't smoke but I wanted an e-pipe anyway but only one which had refills containing no nicotine whatsoever and I couldn't find any. I wanted to puff on it and point it at young people.
