E-commerce and Hosting

Hi guys, i'm currently putting a web design site together and would like to know:

Do sites that offer e-commerce allow you to have as many shopping cart websites as possible? If me and my mate were to share hosting could we both have sites that use a shopping cart or is it basically one per account?

I'd like to be able to host many different shopping cart websites

I was looking at UK2.net as their shopping cart looks absolutely fantastic even if £99 is quite pricey. Would like to go half with my mate... dependent if you can do that or not.

get your self free cart like oscommerce (do google) .

There are few hosting companies that allow multi domain linked to 1 account which means you have public_html/shop1 public_html/shop2 each with their own URL

oscommerce all the way, its free and you can pretty much do as you please with it,

You can probably get away with it even if you just have one database by prefixing the tables differently for each site.
