Thanks in advance

check these 2 places:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data

Or in the Program Files/Outlook Express Directory.

Consider exporting your emails from the File menu, and then reimporting after re-install.

export/import works a treat, was looking for the messages themselves but they are some sort of coded file still all sorted ta

Mates system has went on the blink and can't get into windows. I will be connecting his drive into my machine to get his data of but he also needs to get his emails which are in both Outlook and Outlook express.

Whats the best way of getting these emails?

Cheers.

Outlook mails are stored in .pst files (I think the default file name is outlook.pst). In Outlook go to File - Data File Management, this will list the names and locations of your stored .pst files.

But how can one go into outlook to find that location if the emails etc you want are located on an attaced HD from someone's computer like I mentioned previously.

Or is the location normally the same on most systems?
