Now the above is going to be my new system come at Christmas. What I am wondering is how far can I go with the standard cooler and a bit of basic o/c? Don’t really want to get another cooler as I will be trying to save some money for one of the Penryn’s next year. This will be my first attempt at o/c so don’t want to go too far, too fast, too soon.

That's higher than I would have guested  I was thinking maybe 2.2, but the more the merrier :D

If AC 7 is the Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 CPU Cooler then I think that could bend the plastic a little more. Unfortunately the run up to Christmas is going to tighter than a very tight thing this year. :(

Because of the small cache, these chips don't seem to run as hot as the e6xxx series.

Alpine - No! Freezer Pro is what you want...

That AC 7 Pro has some good reviews. Only thing that worries me about it is 500 odd grams, that a pound weight. But I am thinking that it would be a good idea, as it should cope with more powerful chips laters.
