Edit: Title should read E2160 overclock...
Hey can anyone help im confused.

I have an Asrock MATX 945G-DVI with a Core 2 Duo E2160.
Now, I know the Asrock isn't a good overclocker because of the limited 9x multiplier (?) but I would like to overclock my E2160 a bit.

The thing is, I forgot how the memory relates to the FSB and multiplier when clocking the CPU. I have geil PC2 DDR 6400 800mhz ram.

Can anyone tell me some safe settings I could start on, and how the FSB effects my ram? I'm hoping to get something like 2.8 ghz out of the CPU (a 1ghz clock) but I do not want to break the RAM.

Thanks!

P.s. can anyone tell me the best tool for overclocking Nvidia cards, too? I am used to ATI Tray tools for ATI but have since switched to an 8800 GTS 320

Thanks just downloaded it.

Just need to figure out how to safely overclock my CPU now :P

I cannot for the life of me get the FSB to go any further than 220x9 (the multiplier is locked at 9)

The Asrock 945G-DVI does not seem to have a Vcore option in the bios.

Not only that, but my Ram is Geil 1GB PC2-6400 800Mhz ram and the Asrock 945G-DVI motherboard only supports 533/667 ram - would this be a problem?

The ram options in the bios are only to set it at either DDR400,533,667.

Why cant I get it to POST past 220?

The CPU is a E2160.
