E21X0 DDR1 mobo?

From what i have seen ASRock seem to be the only manufacturer that make dual memory boards. correct me if i am wrong though.

not dual memory boards, only one type, DDR1, just it needs to support e21X0.

and ASrock seem to cheap and nasty. tacky infact. i have only every used asus, gigabyte and abit.

Asrock Conroe865PE

Can highly recommend this board, clock for clock the performance is similar to DDR2 boards. Yes Asrock boards are cheap but they are are a lot better than the boards by ECS and PC Chips of a few years ago. With an E2180 or a 2220 when released you should be able to get 3Ghz plus.

you're wrong, gigabyte and asus also do. just not with ddr1 and ddr2, but with ddr2 and ddr3.

ddr1 is obsolete with the current prices of ddr2

Gigabyte also do a mATX DDR board, it's an 865, but supports core 2 / duo (ifirk)

Worthwhile budget legacy board, since it also has AGP and two IDE connectors (as well as two SATA). Cost me £25.

Should have made myself a bit clearer that i meant DDR1 and 2. As far as i was aware, ASRock produced the only board so to be able to run it with DDR1 and DDR2, so would enable OP to use DDR1 atm and then leave a small upgrade path in the future to buy things gradually.

I have been looking around for a new mobo as want to go xfire and have seen the DDR2/3 combos but tbh because of the relatively expensive DDR3 modules will probably stick with DD2 until next year some time when it has matured and come down in price.

Don't knock the asrock board...true it's not the best clocker, but for the price, poor people like me can afford to upgrade one step at a time.

caus i want to upgrade as i get money, bit by bit, so one that supports both formats will be great.

ok ASrock seem to be they way forward for me. so i guess i will need to find one then.

pc5300 DDRII is as little as £18/gb. if you cant afford that right now then id suggest saving up untill you can. it really doesnt make any sense to buy a bridge board. they look like good value for money but on all honesty, they arent worth it.you just end up spending more money in the future.
