Hiyahh! :D

Finally got my new rig going, after a day of fault finding it turned out to be the Motherboard :( So i got a new one and now im up and running!

E2200
Asus P5K
2GB DDR2 OCZ Plat 7200
Akasa 460 PSU

Im not to bad with the whole overclocking game... had my 3800 939 x2 at 2.81 :) BUT this is my first Intel for years now!

Read through the overclocking guides, but lots i basically know!

Just looking for a few pointers on these wee things...!

Is it best to have RAM:FSB Ratio 1:1? Or does that not bother now?

Its currently sitting at 3Ghz, 11x270... but would not do this at stock vcore! So its at 1.4 now, what is safe?

And lastly, how should i push this more? More fsb, more volts then get the ram sorted after? I dont want to push too much vcore into it tho :(

Any help would be great... thanks!

Craig! :D

personally wouldnt put more than 1.4 thru it to be safe.

are you running the stock cooler on it ?

what temps are you getting under load ?

having a look around people seem to be putting upto 1.45v into the 2180/2200 chips so see how it goes, just keep an eye on those load temps.

Yes and no. 1:1 and 2:3 are slightly quicker at the same speed as the other "od" multiples but it all depends how high your ram will run

ie 1:1 at 800Mhz may be quicker than 5:6 at 800 but memory running at 1000Mhz will negate this and be quicker than 800Mhz even if you are using a daft ration.

So I would keep trying different ratios and running a few tests to see which is quickest.

I know my quad setup is different but I the only reason I have my ram on 1:1 is that my fsb is 475 and it's running at 950Mhz. Before then I only had a 450 fsb and I ran my ram at 1080Mhz on 5:6 ratio which was faster than running it at 900Mhz on 1:1

I came from having AMD rigs for the last 8 years so I found all this Intel overclocking wierd and strange for a while especially coming from a DFI Lanparty Expert.;)
