Kinect isn't a excuse! The fact that they showed nothing a gamer would really enjoy is the excuse.
Says the man who replaced his normal 360 with an Elite
(p.s. I don't need it, but I don't have a 360, and I held onto my last 360 6 months longer than I needed to just to play Gears2 and Fable2 so the idea of playing the next iterations of these appeals to me ONLY ON 360)

I went from a white 20 gig pro with no HDMI with a wireless adaptor to a black 120 gig elite with HDMI with a wireless adaptor, tbh it was big step up.
I will be honest. If they showed anything that actually interested me or something new for actual gamers id be looking at getting a slim. They didn't at all though
My biggest fear now is.. Sony doing the exact same thing with Move tomorrow and showing very little of proper gamer games. I can see it happening as well.
Watch Nintendo do a complete turn around and announce a proper hardcore gamers machine lol
Well move has some core games already known such as Socom 4, Res 5, probably Killzone 3 and Ape Escape but we dont know much about that. Of course they have more casual games to show like move sports, move action hero and a rumoured singstar dance. There must be a reason that Sony showed LBP2, KZ3, MSA, Infamous 2 and the new DC universe trailer they showed today. Im pretty sure they will show some 3D games, but im not sure how they would do that on such a large stage, perhaps it will be limited to hands on stuff. Hopefully they wont show to many other games and just have an hour long demo of GT5
Nintendo i just want to see the new zelda and what miymoto has up his sleave for the wii sensor thing they announced last year. I did notice that MS "forgot" to mention that Fable 3 is also coming to the PC.

Do we really need Kinect for voice recognition? And will Kinect require it's own power source?
I am wondering if that is what the strange port on the back of the slim is for.

A funny presentation.
They really didn't show much for the 'core' crowd though Halo, GoW, Fable all looked pretty good and the new Crysis game intrigued.
Kinect has been an interesting one. I thought pretty much all the MS games were a bit meh other than Kinectimals but I thought Ubisofts Your Shape was quite amazing; or more importantly my wife did. I see what they're trying to do and with 2 young daughters I really do get it and will be pre-ordering.
We tried a Wii but you'd be amazed at how hard very young girls don't get the Wii controller. My eldest is so blown away with everything I've shown her the last few days it actually excites me.
People keep banging on about hardcore titles but when they're shown, GoW III etc. the replies are meh, seen it before or with Alan Wake people discount it. MS can't win.
Move looks great too and I might grab that as well but that's not for my little kids and wife; I've just seen what is.

And end the presentation with 'It is being shipped to retailers just now, and everyone in the audience is getting one for free on their way out. lol

That would seal the deal lol!
The thing is Abooie they show some hardcore games.. but they have all been seen before and showed nothing new.
Kinect will sell by the bucket load no doubt. They seem to be leaving us guys who are their bread and butter in the dark though. I don't even have enough room in front of my tv to give kinect or move the time of day.

Microsoft killed it today!
Kinect was a lot better than i expected, though the party games were a bit crap imo.
What i liked about it was that when major developers get behind it, great games are made, like the dance and fitness one.
They truly are next gen games.
Would have liked to see more non kinect games, but as a whole, Microsoft did a fantastic job this year.
Looking forward to the 3DS, and Move tomorrow, maybe even the PSP2?

The big Us games shop (cant link i guess?) has the kinect as $149.99 the games are $59.99 and the 360 shrunk with kinect is $399 and the 360 core with it is $299. No mention of pack in games or anything but they will prob be a bundle closer to launch. I expect that the $150 will be around the £120 mark with Vat consider me jumping out if this is the case, for kinect and a game its more than a wii console with WSR a motion plus.

Only time they pipped up was when they were told they were getting free 360's

With the console staying at $299 are we looking at $399 for a Kinect bundle? Bit worrying that they didn't confirm the price today, can only assume that means it is going to cost more than they were initially suggesting (unless I missed it?).
They clearly have the games to appeal to the casual market but if the bundle is going to be over $299 I think they're gonna be pricing themselves out of the game...
