***E3 - 2017 ***

MS opening their game sales to two platforms should mean way more money for them?

Who's actually going to buy all these games on the janky Windows store though? :p Well, I suppose the exclusives will only be on there but everything else will be on Steam or Uplay or Origin, etc.

Well that's it. When I think of pc gaming. I think of super cheap CD keys and steam sales. To play the exclusives will need to be through the xbox store at full price

You're the only person I have heard of that thinks that. It seems to be commonly acceptable that 'exclusive' means on one platform only. Console exclusive means it is on one console and PC.
Bloodborne is a Playstation exclusive
Street Fighter V is a PlayStation console exclusive

This is what is accepted by everyone, except for you it would seem.

You can add me to that list too then.

When someone tells me its exclusive, I wouldnt expect it to be anywhere else.

well said.

Anyways why doesnt microsoft just in the whole xbox console and just release games on PC instead?

Theres a lot of pc gamers out there and microsoft could just create a "steam box" sort of thing which will just be a PC in a HTPC case with a windows 10 gaming OS version to boot

Because most console gamers are not PC gamers ?

MS wouldn't be bringing more and more titles to PC if they thought it was going to have a large impact on XBONE sales, but what they are actually doing is opening up their games to a large market that otherwise wouldn't play their games.

There are very, very few system selling games in this gen, TLOU2 is the only thing that even comes close to make me think it's going to be worth buying a PS4, I only bought an Xbox one as I needed a new Blu Ray player and it was the only console that integrates NFL game pass.

Thoroughly underwhelmed with spiderman, QTE galore :(

Also, looks like it has been massively downgraded since the last trailer......

EDIT:

And the dialogue urgh....

That would put them in a very awkward position with Publishers im willing to bet.

how so?

So? it will force MS console gamers to get an equivalent steam box aka microsoft box to play windows PC games. job done. Cheaper for Microsoft to produce for one platform aka PC and be done with it.

Where do you buy there games from then on PC?

Microsoft obviously...not the point in this however. Yes I can buy their games for PC however the hardware I buy for my PC I already have and isn't manufactured or sold by Microsoft themselves.

I would still have my PC regardless of their exclusives being there or not, the fact they are now releasing exclusives on both platforms means in the future I have no need to invest in the XBox home console platform.

folks do buy on the MS store, I nearly got FH3 on PC via the Windows store until I played the demo, didn't bother, game ran like dog poo so never went back to get it when they had meant to have fixed its performance issues.... I hope Forza 7 runs better on PC, that is the only xbox title I really want, and I'm not buying an Xbox one x for just one single game.. lol

You spending money buying from them..running on a platform they own.
Xbox and Sony etc never relied on the money of hardware to carry them, it was games sold through.

Can you play them on another console then?
nope but you can play on another platform ie the pc so not exclusive

Yea so release only on PC platform and make xbox dead? after all they make money off of games not hardware so why bother with hardware?

They haven't but if they can tempt you onto their platform then they'll get the cut of all that 3rd party stuff out there.

All in all though the XBox has less appeal than ever for me the way Microsoft are approaching it now.

They make exponentially more money from Consoles though.
And really?..stop making consoles when they are making money on it?.....why would they do that?
To put it another way..you really think Sony would stop selling the PS4 if they brought there first parties to PC?
Not that they would, they seem to be going out of there way to stop gamers playing there games.
Also, I wonder hoe many PC gamers there are overall, and how many would order games on Day one vs how many would wait for a Steam sale.

I remember reading that PC gaming revenue overtook all console revenue combined in 2016 - primarily down to ingame purchases on games such as LOL, DOTA, Overwatch.
