E3 2018

the whole studio is going to be shut down after this.

the writing is on the wall already.

once you go the EA route your days are numbered. its so big it just consumes everything.it will eventually consume itself and hopefully we will get more studios making original good games again.not making the most accessible borefest just because its easy to get into.

bf5 has turned into cod.looked even worse that i feared it would.anthem could be decent but the fact you know its probably been watered down to get more people playing.so just becomes boring very fast.then after it bombs EA cut them off.titanfall will be next after they got number 3 out.

Interesting views on BFV and Anthem, I have an almost polar opposite view. BFV looked promising, like a return to BC2 days. Jury is still out tho. Anthem looked really painful. I'm looking at all that beauty and reckoning it's only skin deep. The maps will be tiny, the world will feel empty when you see it's all just some instanced nodes on a map. If the maps were huge, they'd be banging on about it more than anything else. The 'javelins' are generic archetypes, I don't see the frames being modular beyond some boring stat-based icon you slot in i.e. the same as or worse than destiny 2 (is worse possible?). Cookie cutter missions that belong in an MMO, without the social aspect of an MMO. Again, jury is out on this one, but the jury might just go take lunch and never come back.

bf5 looks stunning graphically. the map they were showing had a bfbc2 feel to it artisically but the gameplay looked nothing like it. look how people were being put down.more cod like hc style.if you look at bf1 and how that has feared. it didnt do that well and a smallish player base.battlefield should stop trying to claw at the BR scene and keep its routes. BR sells though thats why its added.when you just add items or gameplay just to sell doesnt normally work out well.

The fact that Anthem has a February release date (if it's not just a worthless ploy to drum up hype), means EA knows it's not worth putting among November releases.

Or it is not ready yet and since the fate of a studio lies in the balance I don't blame them.

Watched Joshdub's YouTube EA steam and it was hilarious, he's an Aussie VR YouTuber usually and doesn't hold back with his language.

It's all about Bethesda for me; a cracking showing from them last year when you consider Prey, The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2. These guys are still producing proper quality and genuine single player games without all this online and microtransaction nonsense. Looking forward to what they have in the pipe line...
