I Currently have Michelin Primacy HP 225/55 16's on my e39 528i - SE as opposed to sport suspension -, annoyingly, the O/S rear has picked up a puncture, the fronts are getting down toward 3mm so I'm thinking of biting the bullet and getting a new set of 4 sometime in the near future.
The Michelins on it currently are very good in the wet, hard wearing too which is nice after my tyre munching e38! and they are nice and quiet even on concrete motorways....
I Don't mind paying decent money for decent rubber, alas, I'm very much of the "a tyre is a tyre" school of thought
- so would appreciate some pointers before I fall for some silly "Buy 2 get 2 free ditchfinder" offer at Krapfit and deem it a "driving skill challenge" to run them without killing myself sideways into a tree....

Save me from myself please....
Thanks.
Edit: General consencus here seems to point toward the Continental ContiPremiumContact 2, which my local ats seem to have in stock

Should £500 for 4 be dooable with shopping around?
