Vanos issues were cured to some extent on the facelift late 00 models, they will still need replacing on later cars but they don't suffer the annoying rattle on tick over. Mine were replaced at a cost of around £800 IIRC.
I spent 2 years on and off looking for the right colour combination. Had to be Le Mans Blue with black blue nappa interior and wide screen nav. Mine also came with the rear blind and rear side blind option and DSP audio system which had improved speakers, a DVD nav computer had also been fitted by a previous owner.
