E46 SAT NAV MOD + SERVICE ENQUIRY

Hi, Can anyone tell me if this style of sat nav in this 330CI Sport can be swapped for a widescreen easily enough?. It has a mark 3 drive in the boot I think, this picture is a reference as the one im looking at does not have SMG but has same sat nav along with the comms kit.

One final question whats the normal price for an oil service from bmw on a 330ci sport does anyone know?

BMW will charge circa £150-£200 for an Oil Service.

what about taking your own oil?

heard this being mentioned before on here a few times, does that knock much off?

You can swap that and put the 16x9 unit in as a straight swap i believe.

Although you will need to relocate your Climate panel with a new surround costing about £20 from a dealer.

Then sell the existing unit. So should only cost £200 maybe?

It's the Business Radio Nav not the Professional Nav, so its in the tiny little screen.

No thats wrong unfortunately. He'll need the complete retrofit as the radio unit sits in the boot with Professional nav. It's no easier replacing that business navigation than it would be if he had a business cassette player in there. The only thing you can possibly save on is the navigation computer, but you'll need to get it recoded from a monochrome display to a colour one and it's likely to be a very old nav computer anyway. Much better to upgrade to a mk4 if it isn't already one.

You can straight swap a 4:3 professional navigation monitor with a 16:9 one, so thats probably where you heard something similar to this before.

I looked into this and doing it by a bmw indi was circa £1600-£1800 if mem serves as ou need the front unit along with the rear stnav unit/drive, you also need to change the wiring loom

get far more from installing a car pc to be honest, I personnaly found the buisness nav to be fine, yes you get no map but it directs you just fine.

If you really want the pro nav it may be worth slling the car and buying another one with it already in!!!
