e5200 max cpu voltage

hi guys im a noob over clocker and and was wondering what is the max volts i can put through my cpu without damaging my motherboard i only intend to keep the cpu it till christmas realy but will be keeping the motherboard for a while

at the mo its got 1.38125 volts in bios which is 1.360 in cpuz is this ok ?

and if so whats the max i can put through it

any help will be much appreciated

You're pretty high at the moment, but don't go over 1.4v, especially on air cooling. On water, people have had e5200's on 1.5v @ 4.0ghz.

I would not go over 1.5v at all, im currently running 4.1Ghz with 1.4625v i think as temperatures are good.

Well 1.4v under load in CPU-Z. May be slightly more in the BIOS.

Under load, keep under 75-80deg.

Nope, it will just keep your CPU nice and toasty if it's not adequately cooled.

As already mentioned just make sure your load temps aren't getting too high at those voltages. If they are back off - and settle for a lesser clock if you've exhausted other BIOIS avenues for stability. Throwing volts at the vCore isn't always the solution...

I'm running mine at 1.4v in the BIOS, it drops down to 1.35v when stress testing tho....

Yeah that's fine.

Intel's max recommendation for 45nm CPU's is 1.36250v (24/7 under load), so providing you stay under this value, i don't see any problems.
