E5200 Overclocking and performance comparison.

4GHz from an E6300 that's awesome!:D (65nm core right?)
And 4.13GHz is a damn good o/c from a quad too , what vcore does that take?
I'll buy it from you when you come to sell it :) (ah I've just noticed it's water cooled, mine's on air).
What did the E8500 o/c to?

Wrong E6300. I meant the newer Pentium dual core based on the Wolfdale just like the E5200.

Q9550 vcore is 1.325v for 4.13Ghz. It does 3.65Ghz on stock volts. Don't intend to get rid of it anytime soon. Not planning on going with Intels or AMD's next round of cpu's at the moment.

It's the same E8500 i used for the benchies so 4.5Ghz.

Using a Gigabyte P35-DS3L, previous E2160 struggled to get past 2.9GHz on that! Now this E5400 has had no issues reaching 3.8GHz although still not had a chance to push it further but at the mo happy with performance.

You have to remember that the E2160 is also coming from a lot further behind the E5400 as well, 1.8Ghz compared to the E5400's 2.7Ghz. 2.9Ghz is still a good clock for a E2160. If you look at it another way they have both reached overclocks of 1.1Ghz each.

Very true, & aren't the E2xxx series on the 65nm process too?
Whereas the E5x00 are on 45nm, generally allowing for better clock speeds.

Yep. 65nm and a bit hotter running too. The E2140 i used in the tests needed 1.472v for 3.6Ghz. I am only using 1.32v for 4.13Ghz on my Q9550. I would add it to the test but don't have the same components anymore so it would be uncomparable to the rest.
