I've got a stand in E5200 running totally standard at 2.5GHz cooled by an Artic Cooling Freezer 7, in an Antec 902 which has 2 huge fans ... inside the case feels really cold and my bios seems to think the CPU temp is 17-18 however HWMonitor and Everest report it at 35-36

Which one is right, and does that temp seem ok for that CPU, i thought it would be a lot cooler?

I would go with Everest and Hw Monitor, but I would double check with Core Temp and Real Temp.
35-36 sounds reasonable, what are full load temps like.

You are seeing two temps I believe, one is the CPU/Socket and one is the CPU/Cores.

HWMonitor and Everest report both, CoreTemp and RealTemp report actual Core temps (from intergrated DTS/Digital Thermal Sensor).

They are both right, the temps you are interested in are the (higher) Core Temps and yours seem fine! :)

Your next thought may be "Why are there two different sets of CPU Temps?" and the answer to that would be there are some earlier INTEL CPU's that do not feature onboard DTS so the probe in the CPU socket is the next best thing . . .
