ok, what sort of temps are acceptable and what sort of overclock would i get to with the stock cooler (would i get to 3.0GHz?). It'll be my first overclock and i don't want to break anything :D

Oh god, I upped the Thingy by 5 things so it said 2.66 GHz then save and exited. My computer then just turned off. After about 5 seconds it turned back on then about 5 seconds after that it turned back of again and kept on doing that. It didn't display anything on the monitor :( what should I do? Have I Brocken my computer? (ps I typed this on my iPod :) )

Ok, when I stared it back up I went into the bios because it went back to the normal clock and gave me this "The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltage. Last settings in this page may not coinciden with current H/W states." It comes up with this every time I try and overclock it ( I have tried 3 times) does this mean I can't overclock it?

I just noticed it makes the memory frequency go from 800 to 820 . Should I put it back to 800 or leave it?

is that enough detail?

when i try to change the memory multiplyer thing it only comes up with

auto
2.66c
3.33c
4.00c

no 1:1 :( and i already had the voltage set to auto

edit: ima check the sticks now for u!

ok same thing happened even when the memory underclocked to 547 Mhz. By the way the thing with auto, 2.66c, 3.33c and 4.00 c had SPD next to it standing for something can remember what though. Augh maybe i just shouldn't overclock it.

well i set it to save and then it turns of reboots turns off then boots again with it clocked at normal setting... hang on ima try something!

SPD = system memory multiplier

yeah sorry im quite impatient but i do let it test, i did not press any button after i set it in the video and also i enter the bios because it says the cpu is running at 2.60 GHz and even if i leave it, it says that it's running at 2.60 GHz in CPU-Z. i'll try again taking in that note about the voltage.
