hello everyone,

Today with a lot of help (thanks WJA96) i was able to overclock my new e6300 to 2.4GHz but no more under stock HSF. I have looked around for some overclocking reviews but im not sure where im going wrong. My specs (see my sig). I think its all to do with voltage. I have read here http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core2duo-e6300_8.html

paragraph 7-8 states that problem with ocing e6300 is low voltage on the northbridge and by increasing that voltage in accordance with vcore, you can push it past 2.5Ghz. So far i have done the Ock at stock voltages.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Your probably pretty much at the limit of the motherboard there mate, the Nf4 intel chipsets really don't clock well at all :(

I have read around and i think i should atleast take it to 400mhz fsb, in my opinion the voltage is restricting the overclock here. But im not sure which voltage.

If the temperatures allow for it, you could up the vCore?

Have a check on the intel spec sheet what the max voltage for a Core2Duo is, though... you don't wanna go burning it out.

Unless someone else knows otherwise about the max voltage :D

Also if your RAM could need either higher voltage or lower ratio...

From googling (and searching elsewhere) the board uses the NF4 Intel edition chipset. Chances of you getting to 400 FSB from this board/chipset are slim to non. 320-340 is pretty much the MAX FSB you'll get from these boards.
