wow, extremely helpful post Darq, i will give it a try now, run for 30 mins and let you know how it goes, i would be happy with 2.8ghz, my room does get hot so i see what you mean about idle temps. cheers

fantastic, im running stable at 2.8ghz, idles on the cores are about 44/43c and its a hot hot day! on orthos (running for two hours now!) cores hit the 56c mark and dont go much higher, i can see it hitting 60c tops on orthos for hours, might try and go a bit higher, im only running at 1.25v aswell!

My old 6300 managed 515*7 @ 1.375 with a TT120 (56c ish).

Shame you need decent mobo/ram thanks to the low muti =/

This is probably the best chip I've had overclocking wise.

you have the same cpu and ram as me, so don't expect to get it any higher than 3.15ghz

drop your vcore to 1.25 and up the fsb to 450.
