Do I need to just up the FSB without changing anything first? As when I did this overclock I followed some guide that said when it gets to 400FSB I would have to start fiddling with memory to overclock higher.
Also when I boot it says my RAM as PC2-4200 instead of PC2-6400
The memory default timings are 5-5-5-18 @ 800MHz (FSBx2) so if you are upping the FSB over 400MHz the memory may not like it even at higher volts, you could try 6-6-6-20 while going for a higher CPU clock.
I have similar mem but with default timings of 4-4-4-18 and that runs fine at 5-5-5-15 @ 1000MHz 2.1v.
my e6300 is running at 2.98GHz 24/7 no problem but I just got my q6600 and asus p5q-e yesterday. I'm going to rebuild my system tomorrow, can't wait. = )
