I got a DS3, with the F3 Bios and i have been attempting to overclock.

I can get up to 3.15ghz stable in windows then i just get a blue screen saying something like this:

This even happens when i apply the slightest overclock and have it at 2.1Ghz.

My memory is G.skill 5400 LA.

I have tried to raise the CPU volts to 1.35 and vdimm to +0.3 but still i get the same problems.

Any ideas :(?

Could speedstep(EIST) be screwing my oc?

that file belongs to Symantec Antivirus usually. Worth taking out Symantec and testing. maybe overclokcing it a bit too much as busted the file.

here is what exactly happens to mine:

can anyone make sense of it?

Ok now i have overclocked it a tiny bit and i am getting the same error as above but instead where it says ***STOP:0x.... it says ntfs.sys.

This is something to do with my hard drive what is it on about?

What have you got the memory frequency multiplier set to in the BIOS? Try setting the FSB to 333MHz and the multiplier to 2. This should give you a RAM frequency of 667MHz and a clock speed of 2.33GHz.

Tried that, my ram won't do 320mhz with a multiplier of 2(ram freq 640) just bluescreen again. Faulty memory maybe?

As for the harddrives i got:

1x 250GB Samsung spinpoint SATA(My windows install is on this)
1x120GB Maxtor Diamond max 9 IDE(files)

Any ideas?

Dont go above 1.4.

Still a bit unknown with the max safe voltage.

You should be able to do 3G on default. Could be your memory slaken the timings off to 5,5,5,15

What MCH & FSB overvolt do you have. I have .1 on mine

stock, i'm going to try:

FSB:430
pci freq:100
mem multi:2
5-5-5-15(which becomes 3-5-5-15 ...gigabyte bug in bios?)
dim overvolt - 0.3v
pci-e +0.1
fsb +0.1
gmch+0.2
cpu volts 1.350

sound ok?

Keep in mind i got pc5400..

i thought most these blue screens are caused by memory faliurs, well they were in my cases.

try maybe...one ram?

if you mixed (which you havnt) just stick to one speed

Ok, i did those settings but only 0.1v to gmch, normal volts on the cpu and normal on pci.

i set the memory to 5-5-5-15 but the bios defaults the cas latency to 3

Haven't mixed memory at all, running in dual channel same ram same brand etc.

that looks fine m8. try upping the cpu to 1.375 see if that helps/makes any difference
