Neither did mine until recently but I guess that's just weird for me isn't it that's why I've had to upgrade :D

did 8 hrs orthos small ftts 3.2 ghz at 1.344 v on a acf7p, never went over 59c

agreed its prolly gotta go in same colur slots

so move the stick on the right to the other yellow slot

Woah thanks for that guys, yea it makes sense at the end of the day, 2 running in dual channel next to each other obviously would create more heat. First time running dual channel so I wasn't really sure and I guess my brain was a bit  by the time I come to installing the memory :D

And stinka, nice temps there mate. Hopefully with this next upgrade I may be able to push it a little further if the temps are in my favour. Heard a lot of praise about this MX1 and the reviews look fantastic so it looks good!

Hey everyone, looks like Dharok is getting the same sort of problems as me. Im on a DS3 (rev 1.0 I think and on F12), AC7, Geil 2GB 6400. Currently at stock running at 50oC and 60oC full load. But im just wondering, the people that have AC7's do they have the fan working 100% all the time (even when Idle) becuase im sure if my AC7 was on full speed all the time my temps would look the same as everyone elses. At the moment it just seems to increase in speed when getting hotter, is this right?

Also ive been fannying around with the BIOS for the last few months now, to just reset everything back to factory settings do I just click "restore to defaults" in the main BIOS menu?

Cheers

Yea I might be able to help someone here for a change instead of them helping me :D

What you do is set the FAN Speed Control Method to "Legacy" & FAN Speed Control Mode to "PWM" to maintain highest speed, which can be found in the PC Health Status menu.

That's what I did to keep my AC7 running at full whack all the time, seemed to work a trick.

THATS WHAT ITS ON NOW!! confusion...

Well. I'm f'in amazed. Just cleaned CPU and Heatsink using Akasa TIM, applied some of the wonderful MX-1 Paste, booted up straight to 2.8GHz, stock volts and there you have it 43 degrees not under load :D Going to stress test it now with Orthos and I'll be back to you later with those results.

Oh yea, about the delta, it's friggin noisy as hell! Decided I'm going to have to wait till I get a fan controller for that mother :D

Good work!!

Should have warned you about the Delta really! But I didn't want to unduly stress you out seeing as you'd ordered it already!

They shift some air though!!

Yea crikey, they shift some air alright! Anyway, I have the results of the overclock so far. Stock voltage!

I was thinking, do you guys reckon I could push her some more? Maybe 430x7 = 3.0GHz, then if thats ok then step it up to 3.2?

What's the limit for a good safe temperature? I thought it's 65 degrees but just wanted to make sure.

Crikey, that's more like it!!

I'd be happy going up to 65/70c personally. Throttle point is 85c, or thereabouts, so you're quite a long way from that.

You shouldn't do any harm trying 400 x 7, and if it's stable from there, well then why not try for further?! :)

Woah! Looks like I have a long way to go if you say 65! :D:D:D!

3.0GHz! Upped the voltage a little!

Do you still think I can safely get 3.2 out of her ??

your cpu should *iss 3.2 ghz but your ram maybe the limiting factor if your running 1:1

my geil tops out at 918, but was only stable to 898 mhz

when your happy with cpu stability using small ffts, try orthos blend to test your ram

Mmm, just a little problem. Not sure if it's to do with the ram but when I boot, it boots for like a second, shuts down for say 3 seconds and then boots again normally. Guess it might just have been when I switched the power off at the back perhaps.

Anyhow, gonna go for the 3.2 now!

Yup running at 3.2 right now, all seems well Orthos is running etc. I think the ram is holding up nicely too! Will be interesting though when it comes to blend testing. But yea, 60-62 degrees it looks like at 3.2 so *issed that!

Gonna stick at 3.2 it looks like then, happy with that and haven't really given the MX1 200 hours yet to settle in nicely. So hopefully will only see max 60 in the future which I'm very happy with. I will post screenies of the oc shortly.
