When i run my e6400 at 3.5ghz with 1.5v im getting load temps of about 60-63 degrees measured using TAT and using the 100% workload level feature. I though my IHS must be concave so i had a go at lapping the cpu. The chip now looks nice n shiny and appears to be flat but my temps have altered very little.
Im on water. using an AquaXtreme block, Laing DDC Ultra, thermochill pa120.2 rad and a DD Maze4 on my gpu. Would have thought my temps would be much lower than that ??

it idles at about 45 in TAT, speed fan reads it at about 30c, and at load TAT says 60-63c, speed fan read 50c

I havent lapped my cpu block but thats flat, i was using it on my old opty 170 and had good temps with it then. Cpu has been lapped and as far as i can tell its now flat

I was getting similar probs with my water. I use to get 8 degrees diff at 1.55v with my fx60 between idle and load and now im at nearly 20 degrees. Seems fairly normal. Im just using tat as a measure and just ignored coretemp and asus probe although coretemp and tat were very similar. I also lapped the cpu and it helped a bit but not as much as i hoped. Weird thing is a lot of people on air seem to do far better

Speedfan doesn't read temps from the cores that's why it's lower.

Don't think 60c Core Temp will damage the chip at all, though i'm unsure if that temp is what you should expect for your cooling / OC.

yeah i would have though it would be below 50.

My radiator gets very got so i guess that mean i got good contact with the cpu. I must just got a toasty chip :(

Well you do have it overclocked and with high volts so you should expect much higher temps then someone on stock volts.

My E6300 can just get over 53C in coretemp on a Prime95 Blend and Small FFTs dual mixture. That's at just 2.1Ghz and stock 1.28Volts.
