Hey, Im new to OC but i have been reading different threads about builds.

Can someone please spec me a build with a e6400. It has to be around £400 without the case and PSU. I would like it to be vista capable and with a good motherboard so the processor can overclock to around 3 to 3.2Ghz

Thanks :p

BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Total : £406.80 without P&P

i see that asus m/b. is that going to be ok with vista - has anyone else tried it?
because i read on the internet that some people have problems with it

also this quote:

"I should also mention that the chipset software includes beta Vista drivers. Despite this fact, the autorun will not function properly in Vista, so you will need to fish around the folders and find the correct drivers."

I have the same cpu and mobo, using stock cooling and stable @3ghz havent tried 3.2 yet but failed Orthos after a couple of hours at 3.4ghz due to cooling I expect

Im not sure, I have no intention of running Vista and I expect that Bios updates would iron out any Problems in the future.

Autorun....I assume at the moment it means with Vista installed when you pop a cd in the drive it wont automatically run the cd program.... thats no biggy really bios update would sort that I expect.

There are plenty of other mobos for the same price like the Gigabyte DS3 check that out too

True...but coretemp was at 70c and vcore was set to just under 1.4iirc so hoping its more cooling issue :)

ouch! I hope you get some more cooling on that CPU (or a frying pan, and cook a full English with that temp!)

Testing 3.2 as we *** vcore set to 1.29?? in bios + 0.1v temps between 60-62c @1hr 28 orthos and counting :)

Think I may have been giving it to much vcore...but time will tell
