Mine says 1.325V VID, I guess your cpu has a lower voltage at default.
1.2375 VID

Thanks
marscay said:no it's my only c2d chip, it's a raffle mate ...you buy you try ...sometimes you luck out and sometimes you don't.
your best bet is to buy from B&M store so you can at least look at the batch/stepping....but in general most recent processors are clocking nice.
your cooling is a factor too, mine's running under high-end water which tames the temps a lot.

Yes on Air, and yes a B4.rezza said:Don't tell me this is on air.Isnt this B4?

If you like do a google search for the stepping l629B475. I guarantee you won't find many (at least not in the UK ) and the ones that you do find will be running cool, with low volts and with an average (Orthos stable) OC of 3.8Ghz+.
Also, don't read to much into those temps as I made sure my room was *freezing cold* at the time of benching. I'd catch pneumonia if my room was that cold 24/7.
Below is a pic of my normal stock (nearly) idle temps:
Dude believe what you want, I'm not out to prove anything to anyone. But what I do think you need to understand is that this wasn't a run of the mill air bench with only a couple of 80mm fans. It's what most enthusiasts call an 'extreme' air run, as my rig consisted of 3x120mm intake fans (running at 2100rpm/80 CFM), 1x120mm outake fan (running at 2100rpm/80 CFM), 1x200mm outake fan (running at 800rpm/134 CFM), 2x40mm chipset fans (running at 5200rpm/6CFM), and of course the Tuniq Tower's stock 120mm fan (running at 2000 RPM/80CFM?). I'm not sure of the ambient room temperature at the time but as stated it felt *freezing*. Also take into account that I was running a 8MB PCI card so there was no extra heat generated from a 3D card, and last but certainly not least, my E6600 seems to be a naturally cooler running chip than most. Admittidly my system sounded like a hover craft but to be honest my aim was to achieve 4Ghz stable, not to achieve it whilst running silent.marscay said:is it just me who finds it hard to believe a c2d @ 4ghz with 1.5v+ is sitting at 52c running orthos on air?
on that 2nd pic your idle is 19c ...my chip under a PA120.3 with the window open never goes below 24c at stock ....
where are you iceland??
That 13c/15c shot was taken straight after a cold boot, and in the middle of winter, and after my system hadn't been switched on for a couple of days. Is that so hard to believe?w3bbo said:Something deffo aint right there tbh. A cpu will be more than 6c above ambient temp even at stock speed and vcore, you sure it was 18c? Not calling anyone here a liar or anything like that it just seems very odd, especially Bizzarres shot of 13c on air lol.
