HI Folks,
Just a quick question about temps , I replaced my 8800GTX cooler with a
HR-03-PLUS , I had to mount it cooler to the top ( i use pci slots) this has had
the knock on effect of blowing hot air towards my tuniq tower cpu cooler
which in turn has raised my cpu temps.
At idle my cpu is at about 43 deg C , under 100% orthos load its 66 is this too
hot ?

Iam debating trying a different fan inside my tuniq to see of this can help
failing that I might try the HR-03-PLUS passively.

Has anyone any thoughts on this ?

Any suggestions greatfully accepted

On the bright side my GPU went from 74 on idle to 57 on idle

wonder what the load is under TAT workload? my e6600 is always about 5c hotter in TAT than in orthos.
Yup!

At the limit i've had orthos run fine for hours around 60c then try TAT... 10-15 seconds later temps are approaching 70 and the PC reboots.

I'd change your tuniq fan to something a little better.

all depends what you feel safe with dude, didn't notice, but my e6400 was running at about 85°c for about 3 h ours at one point, doesn't seem to have done it any harm...(fan broke :D)

Run Tat for 15 minutes see what that gets to. If much over 70c I wouldn't be too happy but if its stable and not rebooting all the time it could be classed as "stable".

I've got my 6600 running at 3262 mhz. TAT lists the idle temp at around 39-45 degrees. Under TAT load it goes over 60 on both cores. Toasty, I'll admit, but it's stable. This is with the Zalman CP9500 and a Silverstone TJ03 case.
