Showing at 1600Mhz on the core speed panel.

Is that right?

Multiplier x 6

Bus speed = 266

rated FSB 1066

Voltage 1.120

Edit: Just as i posted i closed down FM2008 and it shot up to 2400 with the multiplier being 9.

Whats going on?

Ah so its normal.

I've had a look and couldn't find anything called speedstep.

Mobo is: P35c DS3R btw.

Ta.

Dokko, on the DS3R go to Bios/Advanced bios features, and disable
CPU enhanced halt, and CPU Eist function, then your sorted.

Cheers that works.

back to 2.4 where is should be, volts up to 1.280, and the multi on 9.

But am sure when i installed the mobo it was 6 x 400, and now its changed to 9 x 266, any ideas why?

again ta.

No its deffo 9 x 266, and i'm 100% certain it was at 400 x 6 when i 1st got it.

Should i force it to go 400 x 6 or just leave it be?

Reason i'm asking i was hoping i could simply knock out 400 x 8 to make it 3.2 without having to do anything else.

The chip is known stable at 3.2 on air without any voltage change.

This is getting really weird.

I tried a BIOS update, to F7, and the thing kept crashing. Resetting the computer and clearing any BIOS changes.

So i went back to F2.

Tried changing it to 400 x 6 and it really doesn't like it, keeps resetting itself as well.

Now its resetting all over the place.

Put everything back to the way it came (apart from audio disabled as i have an xfi) and its still crashing.

What memory and what memory speed, what speed is the board running the memory at? What is the memory voltage set too?

Put the memory voltage up by 0.3v to its 2.1v default.

Eh?

So the board is lowing the volts to the memory?

Strange thing this DS3R, never seen anything like it.

so 2.1v is what it should be running at?

Madness.
